Atari Jaguar

The Atari Jaguar is a home video game console developed and manufactured by Atari Corporation. It was released in 1993 as a successor to the Atari 7800.

The Jaguar was marketed as the first 64-bit console, although the actual architecture was more complex than that. It was powered by a 32-bit RISC processor and a set of custom-designed graphics processors. The console had a variety of peripherals, including a CD-ROM drive, a modem, and a virtual reality headset.

The Jaguar had a small library of games, with some notable titles such as Doom, Alien vs. Predator, and Tempest 2000. However, the console was not successful commercially, and it struggled to compete with the likes of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and the Sega Genesis.

Despite its limited success, the Jaguar was notable for its technical achievements, such as its advanced graphics capabilities and its use of a 64-bit architecture. It was also one of the first consoles to feature online gaming capabilities through its modem accessory. While the Atari Jaguar ultimately failed to gain a foothold in the console market, it remains a unique and interesting part of gaming history.
