The Video Games Museum is hosting the most interactive Summer Camp of the season!

The Video Games Museum in Heraklion, Crete opens its doors to young fans of technology and video games, presenting Summer Camp 2025, a unique creative program for children aged 7 to 12.
From the history of video games and the evolution of controllers to game design workshops, pixel art, coding, and a special gaming tournament, the museum’s Summer Camp offers a week full of knowledge, fun, and imagination.

The aim of the camp is to introduce children to the exciting world of video games not only as a form of entertainment, but also as a tool for creativity, expression, and learning.

Children explore the history of video games through original exhibits – not just as visitors, but as curious investigators of technology's past
Interactive educational workshops
They dive into the basics of game design, storytelling, visual creativity, and problem-solving through hands-on activities that spark both imagination and critical thinking.
Group projects in Minecraft and Scratch
Working in teams, they learn how to build worlds, solve challenges, and design games inspired by their own original ideas – promoting collaboration and digital literacy.
Off-screen creative sessions
Children design characters, environments, and levels on paper, and even build physical board game versions of their ideas using recycled materials and teamwork – blending play with hands-on creativity.
Gaming sessions with consoles from every decade
From the Atari to the PS5, they play and explore how games and hardware evolved over time, understanding their cultural and technological significance.
Souvenir gifts and certificates of participation
